Can a caregiver stay with me during the first 24 hours after surgery?

The caregiver can provide non-medical assistance and observation within the care plan, but should not replace required clinical monitoring. Follow all discharge instructions and contact the medical team promptly if concerning symptoms occur.
Can a caregiver remind me to take post-surgery medications?

The caregiver should follow the medication schedule provided by the client or authorized care team but cannot independently change doses or make medical decisions. Questions about side effects, missed doses, or medication changes should go to the prescribing clinician or pharmacist.
Can home care help with exercises after surgery?

A caregiver may provide encouragement or assistance with exercises that have been specifically instructed by the client’s licensed therapist or medical provider and are appropriate for non-medical support. Care By An Angel does not replace physical therapy, occupational therapy, or skilled rehabilitation services.
How long do people usually need home care after surgery?

The duration varies widely. Some people need a few visits during the first days after a procedure, while others need several weeks of help because of mobility limits, weight-bearing restrictions, fatigue, or a more complex recovery. The schedule can be reviewed as independence improves.
Can post-surgery care be reduced as I recover?

Yes. One advantage of home care is flexibility. As the client becomes safer and more independent with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, or household tasks, the care schedule can be reviewed and adjusted according to the service agreement and current needs.
